Wendi has been working in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer and fitness manager for the past 20 plus years. She has worked with all fitness levels, and is passionate about meeting people where they are at, and assisting them to achieve their health and wellness goals. Wendi’s in-depth experience in several formats allow her to work with any client from someone brand new to exercise, to well-conditioned athletes. Whether teaching high intensity interval workouts, or mat pilates, the goal is the same.  Result driven workouts that are fun and safe for every individual.

As a fitness professional, Heather understands the importance of making workouts fun!  Having taught Group Exercise since 2012, she felt that Personal Training was a great next step to help her clients continue to grow and to be able to work with them one on one. Heather’s personalized and client specific approach to training allows the client to reach their goals, while utilizing equipment and exercises that they enjoy.  

Heather’s focus on effective and proper movement, makes her a great choice for individuals just starting out, those looking to build strength and endurance, or individuals who crave more variety in their workouts.



 Ryan Jarrell, Personal Trainer,

Ryan studied kinesiology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and become a NASM certified personal trainer as well. For the past 25 years, he has worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, coach, and group exercise instructor.

Ryan has extensive experience which gives him the ability to successfully work with a wide variety of clients. Specializing in functional training, TRX suspension training, endurance sports and overall fitness coaching he guides clients to their individual goals whether that be weight loss, rehab, or conditioning/fitness.


Carolyn Ramsey, Personal Trainer,

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

Carolyn brings 13 years of experience as a trainer plus dual degrees in Sports Medicine & Behavioral Psychology from Willamette University to Stafford Hills Club. Her experience began while working with Physical & Occupational Therapy and Behavior Modification Therapy patients, specifically those with traumatic brain injury & children with developmental and behavioral disorders.

Using her experience as a Track & Field Athlete, Carolyn has more than 10 years of combined coaching experience in gymnastics & pole vaulting. She has also successfully coached and created training programs for many bodybuilding, figure & physique competitors.

Carolyn’s personal training style isn’t just taking someone through a work-out… it is an all encompassing program to help someone achieve a healthier body and mind-set, together… one habit change at a time.

Justin Nelson, Personal Trainer,

Justin has been working in a gym since his teenage years, and began his career as a Certified Personal Trainer in 2008.

In the last 10 years as a Personal Trainer he has enjoyed helping people achieve anything from weight loss to sports performance, and regaining strength and mobility post-rehabilitation.  Mostly, he enjoys helping others feel welcome and comfortable in the environment which he was lucky enough to be brought up in.

In his spare time, he loves being active in nature, hiking, and backpacking in the Pacific Northwest.





Shea Vallaire, Personal Trainer,

Shea graduated in June 2017 from Northwest Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science where she ran cross-country and track and for those four years and currently participate in road races. Shea grew up ski racing, swam club and most team sports. She enjoys the outdoors and living a healthy and active lifestyle.





Jeremy Boyd, Personal Trainer,

After serving in the Navy for five years, Jeremy moved to Portland to attend Portland State. He graduated in 2013 with a double major in exercise science and community health.

Jeremy has been working as a personal trainer and performance coach since 2011 working in both Corporate Wellness and Private Clubs. So I’ve been able to participate in multiple wellness programs that help everyone in every situation that life throws at us.

Jeremy is originally from Medford, OR, and now resides in Tualatin with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys getting outside and playing in this bounty that is the PNW.


  Billy Boynton, Fitness Coach,

Fitness professional Billy Boynton brings a very functional training style to Stafford Hills that will help your body move better and enhance quality of life. He is a Body Training Systems Certified Group Exercise Instructor.  Billy prescribes exercises that correct dysfunctional movement patterns, addresses strength imbalances, and builds core strength and coordination. He believes that a well-balanced fitness program should challenge you physically while leaving you mentally refreshed.

As a parent, Billy understands the importance of making health & fitness a priority and way of life. Billy originally got into the fitness industry to help people live a life free of injury and disease, and has an exciting and energetic passion for helping people reach their fitness goals.  With your commitment and his help, he believes that any goal is attainable.


Elissa Helligas, Personal Trainer

Elissa’s personal fitness journey began in 2011 while attending college at Portland State. After living a mostly sedentary life for the first 3 years of school she decided she needed to make a change and switched her major to Exercise Science and Nutrition at Portland State University to match her passions.

By focusing on improving herself as an athlete through regular workouts and nutrition, she managed to lose 40lbs of fat, packed on 20lbs of muscle, and increased her quality of life exponentially.

An eighth generation Oregonian, Elissa grew up in West Linn and loves living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She has been an avid rugby player for the past 13 years, starting a women’s semi-professional club in Portland in 2009.

For the past four years, she has focused on continuing her education by gaining certifications in Personal Training from ACSM, as a qualified TRX trainer, as a certified Tribe team trainer, and as a Fitness Nutritionist from ACE.



  Rachel Lundberg, Certified Yoga

Rachel brings over 25 years of experience in body movement to the Stafford Hills Club. Trained originally as a dancer Rachel has studied all styles of dance with an emphasis in modern and classical ballet .  After the birth of her third child she began to take yoga classes and instantly fell in love.  She entered the Yoga Teacher Training Program at Scottsdale Community College for a yearlong intensive study of the art of teaching Iyengar Style Yoga.  The program focused extensively on proper alignment, detailed instruction, anatomy, yoga philosophy, and yoga therapeutics.  She feels very fortunate to have been part of such a wonderful teacher-training program.  Rachel has been teaching yoga to all ages and levels since 2006, and specializes in truly teaching the art of traditional yoga so that her students understand each pose in a way that increases body awareness, strength and flexibility for improved movement in any capacity.

Besides her love of yoga, Rachel also loves her family.  With three children, a husband and a dog she keeps pretty busy.  She loves being outside, the healing arts, nutrition and people.  Rachel also loves to travel and was able to spend a month in Bangalore, India with her family where she studied yoga and was able to meet B.K.S. Iyengar in person (one thing off her bucket list!).

Rachel would love to answer any questions you may have for her about yoga and the Iyengar style.  She is also available to teach private and semi-private classes.

Marisa Michael, Fitness Instructor

Marisa is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and group exercise instructor. She loves the energy that comes from teaching group exercise classes and has a passion for helping people achieve fitness and wellness.

She has completed several triathlons and open water swimming events. Her certifications include International Olympic Committee’s Diploma in Sports Nutrition, Certificate of Training in Weight Management, and multiple group exercise certifications. She is the author of Bike Shorts: Your Complete Guide to Indoor Cycling and owns a private dietetic practice in West Linn.




   Yenitzia Davila, Fitness Instructor

Yenitzia Davila was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She started taking ballet classes at a young age of 5 years old. Yenitzia danced professional ballet for over 10 years at one the most prestigious academy in San Juan, PR.  While performing as a ballet dancer, she engaged into her professional career path obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance. Yenitzia moved to Oregon in 2001 leaving her career to a side to start a family. Having 3 kids was not a reason to stop what she does best, which is dancing Latin music. Ten years later, Yenitzia started to attend Zumba classes in nearby Health Fitness clubs growing her interest into this amazing and energetic fitness class. In 2012, Yenitzia became a certified Zumba instructor. Now as a Zumba instructor, her focus is to share her passion for music and show respect to her Latin heritage. Zumba has given her a great opportunity to do what she loves: “Teach people new rhythms from different cultures while helping them stay energetic and healthy”.


 Cindy Lewis, C-IAYT, RYT-500, YACEP

With an infectious passion for yoga, over 36 years of yoga practice, and over 1000 hours of training, Cindy Lewis provides thoughtful Yoga classes and private sessions that are a mix of playfulness and meditation infused with movement.

Cindy is certified C-IAYT by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, E-RYT 500 by the Yoga Alliance, and is a Continuing Education Provider to Yoga Instructors. Cindy trained in Power Vinyasa with Tiffany Cruikshank and Yoga Therapy with Sarajoy Marsh.  She is working on her 1000 hour Yoga Medicine training with Tiffany Cruikshank and her Advanced Yoga Psychology Teacher Training with Ashley Turner. Cindy is also a gifted energy worker.

With her extensive training, Cindy is able to guide her students to overcome personal challenges. She teaches Yoga Flow, Hatha, Power Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin, and Yoga Therapy classes. You can find her several times throughout the week on our group fitness schedule. Cindy is also available for privates and semi-private Yoga Therapy sessions.



Sherri Koehler, C-IAYT, RYT-500

Sherri Koehler is a highly experienced instructor, Integrated Movement Therapist, and Certified Yoga Therapist. She’s taught yoga grounded in loving-kindness and joy for over 12 years. She is dedicated to helping others foster compassion and befriend their body on, and off, the mat.

Integrated Movement Therapy (IMT) is a yoga therapy method based in neuroscience that helps people make behavior shifts to move toward optimal well-being. IMT sessions use movement, meditation, breath techniques, mindfulness, and other yoga practices to facilitate the exploration of the whole mind / body / spirit system. IMT helps people feel capable, competent and empowered to make positive changes while strengthening their resiliency.

Sherri uses IMT in private sessions to guide people living with chronic health conditions, physical and mental, folks working to meet neurologic challenges, and those returning to movement after injury or illness. She specializes in helping adults 60 and older age into strength and vitality.

Jane Loverin, Fitness Instructor, Aquatic Instructor

Jane has been teaching fitness and aquatic classes for over 25 years! Currently Athletics Supervisor for PCC, Jane teaches the ProAct Aquatics class at PCC teaching those who want to become awesome AQ EX instructors. Jane has numerous certifications as a Fitness Specialist, Aquatic Exercise, Hydrofit, Strength Training, Arthritis Exercise Walk with Ease- Land & Water, Studio Cycling, Circuit Training/Boot Camp,WSI & more. Stafford Hills Aquatic Fitness is one of her favorite places to teach of all time – the people and club is the best!

Jane has coached and taught classes at the High School level, Masters Swimming, Age Group Swim Teams, YMCA health and fitness schools, college and for the YMCA of the USA.  She holds a Masters degree in Teaching from Portland State University and a Bachelors degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance from Pacific Lutheran University.  Jane taught High School at Jefferson High School and was a director at the YMCA.




Mike Self, Master’s Swim Instructor, Swim Coach

Coach Mike began swimming competitively at the age of 8 and has been swimming ever since! He swam for the National Champion University of Texas men’s team, and since moving to Oregon in 2008, has set 20 Oregon Masters state records and has over 40 Top Ten National Rankings and 3 Top Ten World rankings. He has been coaching adults and kids of all levels for 12 years.

In addition to coaching Masters and Tiger Shark Varsity at Stafford, he is also the assistant swim coach at Lakeridge High School and the Family Life Pastor at River West Church.



Francie Haffner, Masters Swim Instructor, Swim Instructor, Family Programming Director

Francie coaches Masters and Age Group Swimming as well as group and private swim lessons to people of all ages here at Stafford Hills Club. She competed in swimming throughout my childhood, high school, and college (University of Arizona) earning All American Honors. Francie competed in two Olympic Trials, making the finals in 1988. She was a U.S.National Champion, a Pan Pacific, and World University gold medalist, and a member of the USA National Swim Team throughout her college career. After taking 26 years off from swimming, she currently competes in the US Masters Swimming Program earning several Top Twelve Standings in the State of Oregon, a state record, and Top Ten Rankings in the nation. Once a swimmer, always a swimmer!


Uli Pinger, Swim Coach & Instructor

Uli has been coaching at SHC since 2015 but has been swimming all her life. Growing up in Germany, she was part of the German Junior National Team and participated at the Junior European Championships. Later she was a member of the German National Team and took part in multiple international competitions. Uli attended the University of Miami, FL on an athletic scholarship. These days she stays connected to the swimming community through her children, who swim at Division I universities. Uli coaches all levels of TigerSharks, Masters and teaches private and group swim lessons.

Mandy Gasperson, Barre Instructor

Mandy Gasperson has always made fitness, health, and nutrition an integral part of her life. While attending the University of San Diego where she earned a bachelors degree in Biology Mandy also worked as a NASN certified sports nutritionist, Ultrafit consultant/group exercise instructor, a research analyst studying metabolic rates of local athletes, and cheered for the San Diego Chargers. Also an avid runner Mandy has participated in many competitive races where she most recently placed 1st in the female run division at the Blue Lake Triathlon and Duathlon event. Mandy is also a runner on a competitive all female Hood to Coast team. Through her experience in the industry of sports and fitness she has continued to grow and is eager to share her passion. Committed to helping others Mandy currently works as a registered nurse case manager at Moda Health Inc.



Kelly Haller, Yoga Instructor

Kelly began practicing yoga in 2000 while studying at UC Santa Barbara. Over the years, she explored and studied many styles of yoga. In 2008, she completed her 200 hour certification with Ganga White at White Lotus. Since 2008, she has taught vinyasa, gentle vinyasa, prenatal yoga, power vinyasa, and yoga for athletes. She continues her studies of yoga with regular inquisitive practice and by participating in workshops several times a year.  Her classes are breath-centered, supportive, slow and steady, and surprisingly challenging, yet gentle.  Even the most seasoned yogi will find themselves engaged in new and creative ways in her classes. Off the mat Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, painting, reading, and volunteering in her community.



Brenda Carlson, Cardio Groove Instructor

Brenda took my first dance class in high school. As someone who had always been chosen last for sports, she quickly fell in love with the process of learning how to make movement to music work in a non-competitive environment. She has been teaching group exercise classes since 2012. Once again, she saw the beauty of dance, this time in a fitness environment. Everyone can feel successful! Those that have years of dance training, to those who have never stepped into a dance studio. There is an opportunity to move, improve and feel successful for all body types, backgrounds and ages.


Alyssa Grant, Yoga Instructor

Alyssa has been teaching adults & youth since 2007 including yoga, group fitness, health education and Spanish/English language classes. She grew up in California/Oregon and was active in tennis and volleyball. She has always been passionate about holistic wellness, language and traveling. Alyssa has been living on and off in Guatemala since 2010 teaching nutrition/cooking, training health promoters and collaborating in rural community development projects. She has taken Yoga & Meditation Training immersions in Oregon, Thailand, Mexico and Guatemala. In 2013, I created a bilingual yoga and wellness organization called Habla Yoga that offers accessible classes and events for families both locally and internationally. I work part-time in public libraries and have a profound love for reading, writing, and poetry.


Lauren Lundberg, Kids Yoga Instructor

At age 16 Lauren graduated from her 200-hour yoga teacher training program and became one of the youngest certified yoga instructors in the country. Lauren has been surrounded by yoga all her life, as her mom is a yoga teacher as well. She loves the feeling she gets from doing yoga, and working with kids, teens and adults.





Colleen Corry, Yoga Instructor

Colleen became a serious yogi in her 40’s when she began studying and practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a method of yoga synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. Upon joining Stafford Hills in 2012, she began the practice and study of alignment yoga based on BKS Iyengar’s methodology and in June of 2015 she received her 200-hour teacher training certification. She enjoys sharing her love of yoga by teaching beginning and restorative yoga in her home and continues to study and deepen her practice.



Karen Hearn, Yoga Instructor

Karen began studying yoga in 2014 and was immediately drawn to Iyengar yoga and its practice of meditation in action. She has her RYT 200 certification through Yoga Alliance, and is currently studying to become a certified Iyengar teacher. She brings her enthusiasm for yoga to each class and strives for a clear and precise teaching style to help her students achieve their fullest potential.




Kira Davis, Pilates Reformer Instructor

Kira grew up in Eugene, Oregon and has always been a mover.

Starting with gymnastics, figure skating & ice hockey she branched out into hip hop, jazz and African dancing throughout college. Continuing on to practice yoga, circus arts, juggling and fire dancing. Kira has been touring internationally for the past 10 years performing with prop manipulators and flow artist all over the world. After injuring her back, she was drawn to pilates as a tool for pain management and strengthening. She has been absolutely transformed by this modality of movement. She has been teaching movement arts since 2007 and pilates since 2015. She is fully certified through the BASI International pilates training program.


Monica Quarry, Pilates Reformer Instructor

Monica has always had a passion for fitness and movement, exploring new activities, and enjoying the challenge of pushing the body and mind. She grew up in the Bay Area; trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance, and was a competitive softball player.

As a pilates client, she soon found the wonderful benefits the discipline had to offer, and felt the need to share it with others. She began the journey into teaching in 2014, and now does so through group classes and private sessions. She has experience working with all ages and backgrounds; non-athletes, pro-athletes, cross-training, senior balance, injury prevention & rehabilitation, & pre/post natal.

Monica attributes pilates to getting her back to 100% function after a 2016 knee surgery.

She encourages her clients to have fun during their sessions while challenging themselves, and to discover feeling stronger, more flexible and relaxed, as well as confident in their body movement & mind.


Gina Stierlin, Tribe Coach, Pilates Reformer Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor

Gina has been a Pilates Instructor since 2003, working with a wide variety of clients including, young athletes, post breast cancer recovery patients, Parkinson’s Disease, spine issues including low back pain, injury prevention and recovery, with men and women of all ages. Pilates led her to bootybarre which combines all her favorite things…Pilates, Dance, Yoga, Cardio and lots of fun! She got Certified in 2012 and became a Master Trainer in 2015. Gina has a passion for fitness and helping people reach their goals. She believes in pushing safely, form first, then give it your all!



Kristi DeGroat, Group Fitness Instructor

Kristi is a ACE certified instructor and has been teaching classes for the last 8 years. She has a degree from the University of Oregon in Psychology with emphasis in Sports and nutrition. She have a wonderful family with two small boys. Kristi lives in Tualatin and loves what she does.
