Group SWIM Levels
Group swim lessons are available during summer and early fall in our outdoor saline pool. Our certified instructors go over vital water safety skills, help build swimmers' confidence, and teach stroke development through a progressive curriculum.
Preschool 1
Intro to water, breath control, blowing bubbles, submersion, locomotion floats and glides (*child should be comfortable putting face in water). Ages 3-4
Preschool 2
Work on unassisted floats or with slight assistance. Focus on kicking, arm strokes & swimming across the pool. Ages 4-5
Preschool 2/3
Continued work on front crawl (freestyle), unsupported front/back floats and glides. Elementary backstroke introduced, rolling over, treading in chest deep water. Total submersion with eyes open & retrieving objects from underwater. Ages 4-5
Level 1 - Water exploration
Child may or may not be comfortable in the water. Focus on submersion, and front & back floating. Introduction to rhythmic breathing, treading water, rotary arm movements and kicking. Ages 5+
Level 2 - Basic Swim Skill
Work on front crawl (freestyle), unsupported front/back floats & glides. Elementary backstroke as well as rolling over, treading in chest deep water. Total submersion with eyes open & retrieving objects underwater. Ages 5+
Level 3 - Stroke Technique
Child is able to swim 25 yards freestyle. Continue stroke technique for freestyle and backstroke. Introduction to breaststroke, butterfly, diving, and turns. Ages 5+
Level 4 - Pre-Swim Team
Child is able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke without assistance. Refine technique for all four strokes. Work on racing dives, and turns for all four strokes. Emphasize on building endurance for longer periods of swimming. Ages 5+

- Lessons are open to active SHC members only
- No make-ups or refunds.
- Group classes run in any weather unless shc deems the conditions unsafe. We make every effort to reschedule due to weather but cannot guarantee make-ups.
- we reserve the right to make any changes to the schedule at any time up to and during the session.
- classes with less than 2 participants will be rescheduled/canceled.
- CANCELATIONS MADE MORE THAN 14 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE START OF THE PROGRAM WILL RECEIVE A 100% REFUND. CANCELATIONS MADE WITHIN 3-13 DAYS WILL RECEIVE A 50% REFUND. CANCELATIONS WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE START OF THE PROGRAM WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Private swim lessons are a great option for swimmers looking for more specific instruction based on their individual level and needs. We offer private lessons as well as Buddy and Build-a-Group/Small Group packages for participants at the same swim level.
Each lesson session is 30-minutes in length. all prices are per participant.

PRIVATE SWIM COACHING
Swim coaching is for youth swimmers and adults who can swim 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke unassisted. Coaching takes a swimmer's skills to the next level by focusing on stroke refinement, efficiency in the water, and building endurance.
